The United Components A/S feeding system orientates and presents 3 different parts
We delivered a compact feeding system to a customer who needed to handle, orient and feed 3 different sizes of screws with washers.
The feeding system consists of a circular top, custom made for the customer in a 5-axis machining centre, mounted on a vibratory drive. A linear rail, also mounted on a vibratory drive, a sensor to alleviate inappropriate jamming of the rail and a single unloader that removes and presents the screw for pick-up and assembly on the next production line.
The customer simply pours the screws into the circular hopper which then orients and separates the screws by vibration, so that they can be fed in a straight line. The linear feeder takes over and also uses vibration to move the screws forwards.
A sensor controls the number of screws so that the pressure from the queue does not affect the feed. Finally, the screws are separated individually and presented accordingly to the customer’s needs for the further handling of the screw.
