United Components was founded in 2003, and today we are headquartered in Middelfart, Denmark. In addition, we have a company in Sweden under the name UC United Components AB. We are engaged in trading, consulting and technical service of solutions and components for Scandinavian industrial companies. In addition, we have established our own brand within feeding technology, which we call ASTRO. Our target group is characterized by the largest machine builders and companies in Scandinavia demanding high quality and reliability.

Because of our ASTRO solutions we have our own design department and assembly workshop. As an intern in our Design Department, you will therefore have the opportunity to be involved in the entire process from when a quote is accepted by a customer to the solution being designed, engineered and assembled in-house. Our projects are all unique solutions that are manufactured in accordance with the customer's individual specifications. Therefore, we get a lot of exciting and different tasks coming through the door that you will be a part of. Danni is studying to be a Production Engineer

Training as a Production Technologist

The education as a Production Technologist is a 2-year study. You can attend the education in Esbjerg, Herning, Horsens, Kolding, Copenhagen, Randers, Slagelse, Sønderborg, Aalborg, Aarhus and, in Danni's case, at UCL in Odense.

The Production Technology education consists of 4 semesters. During the first 3 semesters (1½ years) you work on different subject areas - both compulsory (1st and 2nd semester) and local (3rd semester).

Materials and manufacturing technology

Business Technology
Production Engineering

The 4th semester is divided into two courses. First, you spend at least 3 months on an internship in a company. Then you write your final project based on a problem in your internship company, which gives you a close connection to the same company during the last six months of your studies.

We have the pleasure of Danni, who is our intern for the next 3 months

Our Design Department has been temporarily expanded with Danni, who will be doing an internship with us as part of his training as a Production Engineer.

Danni is 32 years old and lives in Odense with his wife, Katrine, and their children, Sophus aged 4 and Frede aged 2. Danni originally worked as a toolmaker but prior to that he completed the STX education and went straight from high school to a circus arena - in the most literal sense. He worked for a number of years as a performer for Cirque du soleil, touring the world with the circus.

When his wanderlust had subsided he trained to be a toolmaker at Lemvig Værktøjsfabrik and completed the toolmaker education that later led him to Fimek and Hjernø Værktøjsfabrik.

From there, he attended the Production Technology education which he will finish this summer. As part of the training you complete an internship that we have been lucky enough to be the setting of.
